Since beginning my teaching career, I’ve taught fourth grade, kindergarten, and middle school computer applications. I was also an Instructional Technology Specialist for four years, coaching teachers on meaningful integration of technology in their classrooms. I designed and delivered effective professional development to staff members throughout fifteen buildings as a technology integration coach, and I’ve both attended and presented at a wealth of educational conferences across central Indiana over the years to further my skills and share my knowledge with others.
I’m currently teaching Digital Learning and Digital Video Production at Carmel Middle School in Carmel, IN. I am tremendously passionate about helping students be respectful digital citizens, navigate the web responsibly, and protect their privacy online. My students in DVP unleash their creativity through digital video, and every day is an adventure! I began and actively sponsor both the school’s Coding Club and Minecraft Club, which are wildly popular!
I am proud to have completed the Indiana DOE’s Online eLearning program in 2014, and to have received my Technology Leadership Certification from CIESC in 2015. I’m also a Common Sense Media Digital Citizenship Certified Educator!
Teaching is my passion, and it can be found in all areas of my life. It’s not something I can just turn off; I feel the need to engage and help others in everything I do.
